There are less and less icon packages coming out over the last 6 mos. to a year. Are they going to die out? They are one of the integral parts in putting together a good desktop. I would make them myself but I'm artistically challenged. Maybe we should have Master Icon Packages to encourage people to create some.... It seems to be working for Windowblinds.
My computer crashed earlier tonite, so I had to reinstall from scratch. It was DEAD. After installing all my software, I went to my start menu to organize it and it won't let me move group or delete anything. I can't move anything into the start menu, nothing. Any ideas other than another 4 hours of reinstallation?
I used AdAware for who knows how long, but recently decided to give MS anti-spyware a try. I was wondering who is using what, what you think of them or if you don't use either - what do you use?
I installed Desktop Gadgets today and once I had it on my system I noticed that all the gadgets (silica whatever) were all pretty much already done as widgets. So what exactly is the difference between a widget and a gadget?
When I start my computer, the taskbar takes forever to load. Sometimes it is the last thing on the screen to appear(after widgets and OD). And then once I do get a taskbar, the system tray is way off. Generally the only icons that show in the tray are Windowblinds and my internet connection. I've done a reinstall of Windows, and I'm using SP2. It shouldn't be a virus, I install the Anti-virus before I set up my Internet connection. I don't think a program caused it because it happened ri...
I use 3 different widgets on my desktop, and I was wondering what is the memory and CPU difference between running several widgets and DX. DX has some objects (like email checkers) that don't work as widgets right now and i was wondering if switching would slow my system too much because I only have a 1.7 Ghz P4 with 256MB memory. Any advice would be appreciated.
I love using Bootskin, it's definitely an improvement over the lame Windows boot. When it came out they were talking about it advancing to being able to have 64-bit color (I believe), but it hasn't been updated in almost a year.. Anyone know if it's still being work on or is it dead as far as development, cause I know the guys at Stardock are busy............ I hope it's not dead.
In an act that we may never know why it happened, a person rushed the stage and shot guitarist Darrell Abbott and then 3 more people in the crowd. We had a pretty good chance to beat GW in this years elections. His approval rating was low, people thought the war in Iraq was going badly, that the economy was going badly and that the country needed to go in a new direction. But somehow we managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. So he are my thoughts on what we need to do before 2008 to have a chance: 1) Disown Michael Moore - Too many people hate the man. You know how we feel about Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, take t...
I'm not real big on conspiracy theories. Other than the JFK assasination I don't believe any. ( If there's nothing to hide, why did they seal the evidence for 27 years?). But anyway, my brother sent me a link to a video about the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon.Obviously take it with a grain or two of salt, but check it out. Link
I posted an article recently about too much religion in politics and the Evangelicals wanting to push their agenda on the American people. The few people who did read it pretty much slammed me. Please check out the following article from the associated press. Falwell plans for 'evangelical revolution' 11/9/2004, 10:43 p.m. ET By HANK KURZ Jr. The Associated Press RICHMOND, Va. This IS NOT a rant about the 2000 election. Bush became President and if Dems were in control of Fla. Gore would have - that's politics. Dems wouldn't have been any more "noble" and done anything different than the Republicans did. This is about the fact that the same thing almost happened again. In 2000, Gore won the popular vote by 500,000 but lost the electoral vote. (Please let that go my Democratic comrades). This year Bush won by 3.8 million votes and won the electoral college. ...
I have to admit, I was one of those who supported John Kerry, and as a whole didn't like George Bush. I believe that the war in Iraq was a distraction and based on a predetermined notion by the administration that they wanted to take Saddam out. I believe that by far his policies help those who are more well off, an attempt to recreate Reagan's "trickle down" economics which created huge deficits. I have other policy differences, but that being said, except for Iraq, I think he has done w...
The election is over, and we have four more years of GW to look forward to. I'm not here to call for rioting in the streets or advocate mass suicide, I just want to share my views of where the Democrats went wrong, asks questions that I think are important and get some feedback.
